For store owners
What can I turn on?
The admin Copilot, storefront assistant, and My account experience have separate controls. Public Q&A and shopping tools currently share the storefront setting. See configuration options.
What do I need to install?
nopCommerce 4.80 with .NET 9 and SQL Server, a licensed eStoreware Core installation, the AI Assistant plugin, and an OpenAI API key for public/admin AI. Advanced Quotes is optional. Follow installation steps.
Can I limit usage?
Yes. The settings provide request limits and delay controls. Also review usage and budget controls in your OpenAI project. Limits do not guarantee a spending cap.
Does the assistant know every compatible product?
No. It searches the public catalog and relies on your descriptions. Add exact SKUs, model numbers, and compatibility statements, then test important product families. Prepare catalog content.
For shoppers and account users
Are the product prices and stock live?
Product cards use nopCommerce’s customer-visible quantity-one pricing and public stock message where available. Product options, quantity discounts, taxes, and final totals are confirmed on normal store pages.
Does asking to add something to my cart place an order?
No. The assistant shows a cart preview and requires a separate confirmation to add items. Checkout and order placement stay on the normal store pages. See shopping workflows.
Can I ask about my orders and quotes?
When My account is enabled, signed-in customers can ask about their own orders, visible quotes, saved products, and profile. Quotes require the optional quote module. Account changes use the normal account pages.
Are account questions sent to OpenAI?
No. My account questions and results are processed locally and are not saved as assistant chat history. Public storefront questions use the configured AI service. Read privacy details.
For administrators
Can AI change prices without approval?
No. Single and bulk base-price changes present a preview, require explicit confirmation and the proper permission, and create an audit record. Base catalog prices can affect multiple stores. Read admin guidance.
Why did a confirmation expire or fail?
Previews expire, and changes to the product or session can invalidate them. Review the current product, cart, or audit record before creating a new preview. For cart previews, multi-worker hosting needs validated sticky sessions or one worker. Troubleshoot.
What should I send to support?
Send the plugin version, store, approximate time, safe reproduction steps, and any relevant audit ID. Never include a password, API key, full customer record, or private account question. Contact eStoreware.
